What exactly is sampling?
The basic understanding of sampling is essential to master digital imaging. In simpler terms, image sampling is the process to select pixels from a given image for the creation of a new image.
Sampling in other terms is also defined as the process of collecting data from several analog sources like any photograph or a video.
Then the digital images are generated from the samples with the analog sources.
Among the most ideal ways in which image sampling defines the resolution of an image is with upsampling and downsampling. Downsampling mainly reduces the pixels of a particular image while doing the task of upsampling can enhance its numbers.
